Shi Yongxiang is the founder of the YTT Method, an entrepreneur, management scholar, educator, philanthropist, and marathon runner.

For more than three decades, Shi has focused on one fundamental question: How can companies turn management decisions into sustainable profit?

His answer became the foundation of the YTT Method — “Analyze Yesterday, Predict Tomorrow, Decide Today.”

From Business Practice to the YTT Method

Shi began his career in government before moving into multinational companies in 1990.

Over the next 16 years, he worked across finance, management, sales, and executive leadership. During this period, he was assigned to lead six loss-making businesses, giving him first-hand experience with the realities behind profit, growth, organizational efficiency, and business decision-making.

These experiences gradually shaped what would later become the YTT Method.

In 1998, Shi began teaching executives at leading Chinese universities and executive education programs, turning years of management practice into a systematic approach to business and profitability.

In 2004, he founded YTT Consulting to bring this methodology into real companies.

Building a Management Method Around Profit

At the heart of the YTT Method is a simple principle:

Rather than treating finance, strategy, sales, operations, and organization as separate disciplines, Shi developed an integrated management framework designed to help business leaders understand where profit comes from and how everyday decisions influence long-term performance.

Since 2006, he has led the annual YTT community and management programs, sharing the methodology with entrepreneurs and executives across China.

Over the past two decades, Shi has taught at universities and executive education institutions and has shared YTT management thinking with more than 200,000 entrepreneurs and business leaders.

He has also taught corporate finance and business management in the EMBA program of Peking University HSBC Business School for many years. His research and teaching focus on corporate strategy, financial management, and business profitability.

Shi is the author of a series of books exploring profit, finance, and business management.

His first major book, Getting Profit Through Finance, was published by Peking University Press in 2007.

Today, Shi is bringing the YTT Method into a new generation of business technology.

He leads the development of YTT AI, combining decades of management methodology with artificial intelligence to help companies transform business knowledge, sales experience, marketing processes, and management logic into intelligent systems.

The goal is not simply to introduce more AI into companies.

It is to help organizations turn their best management thinking into repeatable, measurable, and continuously improving actions.

Through products such as Digital CEO, Sales Master, and Marketing Master, YTT AI is exploring how digital workers can support business leaders and teams across decision-making, sales, marketing, and growth.

The technology has changed.

Beyond Business

Shi also believes that entrepreneurship carries a responsibility beyond commercial success.

In 2007, he founded YTT Candlelight Charity, working with entrepreneurs to support rural education in China through the creation of YTT libraries.

The initiative has reached more than 1,100 schools across six provinces, using books and reading to help children build curiosity, confidence, and independence.

Outside business and education, Shi is also a dedicated endurance athlete.

He began running marathons in 2016 and completed the six World Marathon Majors in 2019. His interests also include paragliding and equestrian sports — pursuits that reflect the same curiosity and willingness to challenge limits that have shaped his professional life.
